Here’s a roundup of April eating competitions in the UK, courtesy of the EatFeats. The competitive eating database lists the following contests for this month. Know of any others? Tweet us @ExtremeEatsUK
- The Duke of Cumberland in Somerset is hosting a sausage eating contest at 6 pm on 4 April. The challenge: you have ten minutes to eat as many sausages as you can.
- Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club will hold a hot dog eating competition as part of its Coney Island Party and Freakshow on 12 April: ’50s R&B, a fairground, freakshow acts, and a five minute hot dog eating contest. What more could you want?
- The Clarendon in Warwickshire has a chilli ice cream sundae eating contest on 19 April. Sounds a bit yuck to us, but see if you can stomach it!
- Blackpool is hosting a chilli eating contest as part of its “Chilli Fiesta 2014” on 26 April. As the event poster says, “No chilli too big! No chilli too hot enough! Don’t talk, eat!”
